Suchara graduated from the Australian National University and has since worked as an Associate both in the ACT Magistrates Court and for Justice Harper at the Family Court of Australia. Her particular interests lie in the intersection between family and criminal law matters, as well as in complex property cases involving self-managed superannuation funds and trust structures. Suchara also worked at a well-established Canberra law firm during university and was President of the ANU Law Students Society.
Suchara was born in Sri Lanka but has lived her whole life in Canberra. You will find her around the lake attempting to get better at running or at the National Library (aka “the Nash”). During lockdown, Suchara became a keen at-home Pilates enthusiast. Although Suchara loves watching the AFL, she’s not a loyalist and barracks for a number of teams including the Sydney Swans, GWS and the West Coast Eagles. Suchara also loves R&B, hip hop and soul music so will try to catch some local artists in Canberra or will head to Sydney for music gigs.
