I have been anxiously awaiting returning to work after some time off on maternity leave following the birth of my second son.
Will I remember the law and what does a Court room look like again (just joking)? Will I be able to maintain intellectual and academic conversations with adults and not just talk about baby purée or Bananas in Pyjamas?
I am comforted by the fact that one of our firm’s strategic goals is that it values women and the work/life balance. I think that this goal makes us stand out from other law firms that hold more archaic values of working long hours no matter what. Did I mention we have also gone paperless and work in a non traditional work environment – now that’s a point of difference!
So, knowing I have such strong support behind me, I’ll return to the challenging but very rewarding world of family law like a duck to water!
