We are very proud to have sponsored the 20th National Family Law Conference in Perth last week!
A total of 15 solicitors from our offices in Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne and Coffs Harbour attended the Conference, which was a great success. The conference is a gathering of judges, politicians, family lawyers and other industry professionals to discuss issues in practice and legal reform. It was a good opportunity to refresh our knowledge on family law and keep ourselves updated on recent changes to the law, as well as network with other like-minded professionals in the industry across the country.
Here’s just some of what the team got up to:
- Started most days with the Swan River Strides walk along the picturesque Swan River.
- Engaged in educational sessions involving various interesting topics including the impact of recent changes to legislation, third party financial relief, the future of litigation in the world of AI, and the crossover between family law and deceased estates matters.
- Attended a number of social events, including the Welcome Reception, the Chair Drinks & Canapes at the WA Museum, and a networking dinner organised by Delbridge Forensic Accounting and Grant Thornton Australia.
- Exuded resort chic elegance at the East Meets West cruise to Rottnest Island where we were lucky enough to meet some friendly quokkas and network over lunch with Barristers and peers from around the country.
- Donned our best outfits at the Gala Dinner in colours representing each of the State and Territories from our respective offices.
With Family Law at the heart of what we do, this was a fantastic opportunity to make longstanding connections with like-minded professionals in the industry across the country, while engaging in the thought provoking program that enabled us to delve deeper into our education and understanding of the law.
